I like the water
2 August 2005 11:52Stayed up all night two nights ago watching movies, went to IHOP (months ago, I would have never suggested an IHOP run), didn't eat pancakes. Everyone was full and I got to my house as the sun rose... then we went to the beach. The water was like silk, and I wanted to swim, but nobody had brought their swimsuits. We scattered and re-convened at the beach in the earliest of mornings to swim sun-blind in the crystalline lake, as yet undisturbed by sand and the legs of rowdy children.
It was beautiful.
I want to grow my hair out so long, because I love the nimbus of it floating all around my body as I'm cradled in the water. I admired my silver nails and white skin under the water. I kicked like a mermaid, and Dai-kun called me a selkie. I love the water. This morning I woke up and wanted to dance, so I turned on music and danced. It was too early for Dungeons and Dragons. I read teenibopper magazines and the comics, wrote e-mails to my roommate-to-be, and wondered whether or not I should post my treatise on evil on the Warcraft boards.
I admired my guild, put on shorts and a tank top, and then I thought about all the changing.
And how I'll be nineteen in November, and I still don't know how to turn film in to be developed, but I -do- know all about the gestation period of Dragons and the mating rituals thereof.
I think that's a good place to be.
