The Four Draughts
21 September 2005 09:49Hoho. Something I found a while back, here.

"
They are phrased as, for example, "The Body Immersed in Water," or "The
Heart Drinking Wine." This yields 64 possible draws, each of which has
a subtitle. For example, "The Body Immersed in Water" has connotations
of drowning, a process that can only be averted by diligent, difficult
action, so its subtitle is "Struggle." "The Mind Drinking Wine"
indicates a conscious decision to avoid work, so its subtitle is
"Frivolity."
Water is mostly symbolic of refreshment or
cleansing, in this system, but it can also symbolize catastrophic
destruction. Wine is for delusion and idleness, but also for ecstacy
and passion. Milk is for nurturing, strengthening, and security, but
can also be for immaturity and regression. Medicine is for artifice and
the will, but can also represent compulsive behavior and seperation
from nature/society.
I love things like that. Especially ones that count on the human mind to make their conclusions based on random things. Because in making it make sense for yourself, you generally look at more angles of the situation you're in.
Today, I am:
The Body Immersed in Wine
I am also super excited about a RP thing that I just fell into that might end up with me having a new recruit for my guild. Say it's so!
I did not, however, memorize a bunch of the kanji I was supposed to learn. Whoop.
