This book is odd. That is to say, it makes some very interesting points about morality, culture, and some instructions on how to cleanse the soul that I'm fairly sure are counter-intuitive to running a good relationship. Or are they.
I think our deliciously puritan society just tells us we need to be straight-laced because the people who are responsible for disseminating those ideas are just jealous that they can't let go enough to indulge. Anyone else interested in having a delightfully indolent evening where we eat, drink, and talk about things that don't matter should let me know, and we can do so. Everyone ought to dress in whatever makes them feel youthful and suffused in the heady perfume of their own beauty, and we can talk about everything serious as if it was of the least consequence and everything of the least consequence as if it were serious, and a good time shall be had by all.
Sounds delightful to me.
